What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Entrants
We collect only the information entered on our entry forms. It is retained in our secure system and handled only as explained below.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Images uploaded to the website for entry in to Paint Ontario events are deleted from the website within one year of entry except as follows. Images are retained by Paint Ontario and may be used as stated in our Terms and Conditions/Rules. This includes use as online examples of works accepted to the show or sold.
Images of winning or awarded entries are displayed on website indefinitely. The title, medium, name of the Artist and the name of their community may be included.

We collect only the information necessary to contact you if your message requires a response.
Cookies
Paint Ontario does not use cookies for entrants(those who complete entry forms) or contact form users.
For non-entrant users set up by the administrator we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. When you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Your data is only used to create external mailing lists for subsequent communication about current and future Paint Ontario events.
How long we retain your data
The information in your entry is deleted from the website within one year of entry. We store a spreadsheet of entry information in our secure online storage, accessible only to authourized Grand Bend Art Centre users.
{If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.}
{For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.}
What rights you have over your data
If you have entered paint Ontario, have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If an uploaded image is retained on the site(e.g. a winner) for more than one year you may request that we remove your name from the image/file name.

Your data is only sent to our contact management system, MailChimp, in an account under our complete control.
