SUMMARY:Suzette Terry
DESCRIPTION:Demonstration in Collage \nWatch Suzette build and work up a collage using a variety of materials. Focus on application techniques and finishes and the correct mediums for success. \nCreating florals and forests with acrylic paint and collage materials: from hand painted papers\, cut up old paintings\, Japanese papers\,  and stamped images made from linocuts and found materials. Be prepared to be creative! \nBio: Suzette is a very busy artist in the South Central Ontario art scene. She graduated from the University of Guelph in 1990 with an Honor’s Degree in Fine Art and Business. \nHaving spent her early years in the picturesque town of Fergus\, two in Kitchener\, ten in Meaford\, she returned to Port Stanley in 2023. \nAll of these places have left a mark on her work and her scope of expression. Her subjects range from the human figure to vibrant landscapes\, her mediums follow suit\, ranging from work both in oil and acrylic\, to printmaking and mixed media collages.  It is this shifting of gears from one medium to the next that spurs Suzette to new and innovative discoveries in both technique and content. \nBold\, energetic form and vibrant colour are the mark of her style. She has built on her influences: the colours of the Fauves\, the abstraction of Picasso\, and the simplicity of Matisse.  A trip to Europe with visits to seven major museums and galleries has laid the groundwork for further exciting explorations in her work; including working on large scale canvases. Subject matter ranges from Northern landscapes\, to floral still life\, abstracts and figurative imagery. \nIn addition to creating art Suzette has taught many workshops in collage\, Paint Jams\, and lectures around Central and Southern Ontario\, encouraging and inspiring other artists. \nShe is currently represented by:\nKarger Gallery\, Elora\nArts on Queen\, Beaches\, Toronto\nMarten Arts\, Bayfield\nPartial Gallery – Online\nInstagram: suzette.terry \nwww.suzetteterryartist.ca
